Human Rights Defender Award
The Amnesty International Human Rights Defender Award honours one person’s remarkable contribution to the protection, defence and promotion of human rights.
This person might be a lawyer, doctor, journalist, humanitarian aid worker, documentary maker or anyone else who has a proven track record in the promotion and advancement of human rights in their community, country or region.
Essential criteria for nominations:
- Nominee must be from NZ or Pacific region.
- Nominations must be made by a third party on the official nomination form (cannot nominate self).
- No CVs to be included in nomination, however relevant supporting news articles or publications may be attached.
