How to leave a legacy to Amnesty International

Leaving a legacy to Amnesty International isn’t complicated and needn’t be expensive. Whether you already have a Will or not, here’s a brief outline of what needs to be done to include us in your wishes.

We recommend that whether you’re thinking of making a new Will, or updating an existing one, you consult a professional legal advisor. They’ll make sure your Will is valid and that your intentions are clearly and legally stated.

If you don’t yet have a Will

You have three choices of bequest you may like to make:
1) Leaving us a specific amount.
2) Leaving us a percentage of your estate.
3) Leaving us the residue of your estate (anything left over after you’ve met your personal commitments).

If you already have a Will

You can easily update your Will with a codicil - an additional clause that includes your bequest, and complies with all the requirements of a valid Will.

If you have already included Amnesty in your Will or intend to do so

Please let us know in complete confidence by completing this legacy pledge form. That way we are able to better plan for our future campaigns. We would also like the opportunity to thank you personally for your generous gift and keep you updated on our work and successes. If you have any queries or would like to have a chat regarding leaving a legacy to Amnesty International, please feel free to contact Lisa Ho on 0800 266 3789 x 205 or lisa.ho@amnesty.org.nz.
