Our work

Amnesty International campaigns on a wide range of issues to protect and defend human rights. Our vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international standards.

Stop Violence Against Women Stop TortureMy Body My Rights Freedom of Expression

In New Zealand our priority campaigning areas currently are violence against women, stopping states that torture, ending use of the death penalty and our fight to free Prisoners of Conscience - people who are imprisoned because of their political, religious or other conscientiously held beliefs, sex, colour or sexual orientation. We're particularly concerned with cases and issues in the Asia - Pacific region and promoting human rights awareness in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
