A panel discussion hosted by Women’s Rights and Advocacy in the Pacific (WRAP) – followed the report launch. WRAP is an Aotearoa NZ based group made up of New Zealand organisations (including Amnesty International Aotearoa NZ, Oxfam NZ, Family Planning International, UNICEF and UN Women) which promote and work on the rights of women in the Pacific as all our part of their remit. Click here to visit the WRAP website.

The discussion featured leading women’s rights experts from non-government agencies working in the Pacific region including Joycelyn Lai (Young Women's Christian Association in the Solomon Islands), Edwina Kotoisuv (Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre) and Ema Tagicakibau (Campaigner/Researcher, Pacific Small Arms Action Group). These women brought first-hand accounts of the impact of SGBV, and along with the question and answer ensured Pacific women’s perspectives and voices were heard.  On the front line for these issues, these human rights defenders also detailed solutions to combat the problem.
