Arrested for investigating a massacre. Facing 14 years in prison just for doing their job.
Two Reuters journalists, Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo, were arrested in December while investigating atrocities committed by Myanmar’s security forces against the Rohingya people. They now face up to 14 years in prison.
They were then charged with possessing government documents with the intention of sending them to a foreign news agency, a law often used by authorities to silence dissent.
Join our call on the authorities to release Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo immediately and to drop the charges unconditionally.
