Christchurch Regional Team

Canterbury

The Christchurch Regional Team is a strong and vibrant team made up of a wide ranging membership in terms of interests, backgrounds and ages. We meet monthly to discuss our response to priority campaigns, organise events and encourage each other in ongoing support of human rights.

Annual activities we engage on include:

  • Culture Galore in March

  • Freedom Week street collection in August

  • White Ribbon Day (Stop Violence Against Women) in November

  • International Human Rights Day (Write For Rights/Toast to Freedom) in December.

Our members contribute in a variety of different ways including letter writing, street collections, petition signing, creative activism, collaboration with Amnesty International’s secondary/tertiary student groups, and supporting actions by other social justice organisations.

We think it’s vital that everyone has the chance to make a difference and contribute in a way that best suits them. We would love to have you join us.

We meet monthly on a weekday in the first week of the month, between 6.30pm - 8pm.
