Turkey: Release Students Imprisoned For Peaceful Protest
At this moment, ten students in Turkey are in prison for holding signs and chanting slogans at a small university protest against Turkish military attacks in Syria.
Last year, after Turkey unjustly imprisoned ten rights defenders, thousands of you leapt into action, signed petitions and emailed Turkish authorities in protest. And it worked. Nine of the ten rights defenders were released and were reunited with their families and friends.
We can work together and put enough pressure on Turkey’s authorities to get these students released too.
Peaceful protest is a human right – call on Turkey to release the students immediately.
